Issue type: Damaged / noisy manhole cover (carriageway) Location: Brentford High Street (A315), in between the turnings for Pottery rd and North rd, very near to the pedestrian crossing on the side of the road going towards Brentford from Kew. Description: There is a loose/damaged highway manhole cover in the carriageway stamped “HIGHWAY”. The cover is not seated properly and creates a loud clanking noise when vehicles pass over it, particularly noticeable with heavier vehicles. This is causing a significant ongoing noise nuisance for nearby residents and may also present a safety risk if the defect worsens. Impact: Repetitive noise disturbance (day and night) Potential for further deterioration of the cover/frame Possible safety hazard for traffic if the defect escalates Request: Please arrange for inspection and repair/reseating or replacement of the manhole cover as soon as possible.
