Oaklands Avenue / Gower Road

Reported via desktop in the Uneven footway category anonymously at 17:55, Thursday 9 October 2025

Sent to Hounslow Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8275646.

Hounslow Highways contacted all residents on 15th August 2017 informing us that our road, Oaklands Avenue and Gower Road was scheduled on the 8th September 2017 for improvements saying: 'footpath to be part of a huge ‘Improvement’ drive with an initial £100m of £800 million invested in resurfacing the roads, footpaths, street cleaning etc.' The residents objected to the flagstones being replaced with tarmac; Oaklands Avenue is in the Osterley Park Conservation Zone. NOTHING has been done for eight years since, (other than the ripping up of the flagstone for 'utilities works' and replacing with tarmac) nor the whole 32 years we have lived here and the pavements are now dangerous for even the abled bodied and especially for our elderly residents, many of whom now walk on the road to avoid tripping on the uneven pavements. ...And don't even mention the waist high weeds, nor the 'Lime' bikes strewn over the road nor all the rubbish on Gower Road!!! Can somebody please schedule some works and improve our living environment?

Updates
