Island on Ravenswood gardens.

Reported via iOS in the Grass cutting query category anonymously at 14:34, Wednesday 30 July 2025

Sent to Hounslow Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7955176.

It’s been a while since anyone came to care for this area. Ivy is taking over the ground and now growing up trees which over time will damage them. The grass is long and needs cutting, there are now numerous sycamore saplings growing which must be removed. You are refusing to look after the cedar of Lebanon tree which is over growing peoples gardens and creaks in the wind, so all of these extra trees wont help it. The hedge planting needs to be cut back to a safe level, perhaps 3 feet tall (people use them to hide behind making the area u safe) there are areas of uneven ground where people have dug holes (don’t ask me why?!?) The holly trees and other trees have dead branches and need to be cutback, these hollies started as self seeded, they should never have been allowed to establish like this. Please deal with these issues as a number of them relate to public safety. Thank you.

Updates

  • This is still a problem. The trees have been neglected for years. The large cedar of Lebanon needs pruning. It makes creaking sounds and is dangerous. The hollies all self seeded and need removing. The hedging needs cutting down as they create a shield for people to carry out antisocial behaviour. There are at least 7 sycamore saplings growing amongst the very thick ivy covering the ground, it’s also making its way up and around trees including the cedar and will eventually kill them. The other trees have dead branches and need pruning. Because they have been left so long there is now a lot of work and branches are falling. I’ve attached a photo of one of the smaller trees which has had branch fall last week.
