I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding a significant public safety issue caused by inadequate street lighting in the vicinity of London Road (TW7 5FP), which has not been functioning effectively for some time. This matter has led to increased vulnerability and safety risks for residents, especially during the evening hours.
As of 20:30 on the 3rd of Sempteber, it has been observed that no street lights were operational in the area. This complete absence of street lighting during the hours of darkness severely compromises visibility, making it exceedingly difficult and unsafe for residents, including my wife, to navigate the area. She commutes back from work during these hours and is understandably distressed and fearful about the potential dangers she faces due to this issue.
The lack of proper lighting not only increases the risk of personal injury from unseen hazards but also elevates the likelihood of criminal activities, placing residents at further risk. The current state of the lighting on this street does not meet the basic requirements for a safe living environment and urgently requires your attention and immediate action.
We kindly urge the Hounslow Council to address this issue promptly by repairing or replacing the faulty street lights in order to restore adequate illumination in the area. Ensuring the safety of its residents should be a paramount concern, and it is imperative that this matter be resolved without delay to prevent any potential incidents.
Thank you for your attention to this serious concern. I look forward to your swift action and a prompt response addressing the steps that will be taken to rectify this situation.
