Hi, I am writing to complain of the state of Avenue Road, TW8 where we have just moved to. The road is lined with beautiful trees however these trees are leaving an unheard of amount of tree sap all over the road ruining all the cars and leaving the front and roofs of our houses completely covered. The sap is like cement so just walking on it ruins all shoes and has completely covered our child's buggy wheels when walking on the pavement, which is impossible to remove. Every car is completely covered and there are very few parking spots on the road that are not covered by trees so it is impossible to park anywhere else. There are also many disabled parking spots and EV charging points which mean parking spaces are limited. The cost of having to clean and be able to manage this tree sap daily is quite substantial and will be a regular occurrence so I am concerned about the financial burden this will have on all residents. There are many elderly people who live on the road who are also physically unable to sweep these front gardens daily so this needs to be addressed. • What outcome are you seeking? As we pay a very large amount of council tax (our band is G), I would expect the roads and front gardens of our houses are cleaned daily. Car covers should be provided by the council to make sure our cars don't get ruined and save us having to pay to have them cleaned so regularly. Residents should not be out of pocket due to these trees and if any excessive costs are incurred by us, we should be reimbursed by the council. I look forward to hearing back on this matter.
