I'm contacting you on behalf of my 90-year-old mother, Gill Frayn. The trees in the street outside her property haven't been pruned back for a few years now and one directly infront of her home is now very overgrown. One of the branches stretches across the front garden, not only does it block out most of the light, causing the front room to be very dark, but it also touches the flat roof area above the bay window. This means that when it rains, it acts as a slide for the water, which cascades down the branch and on to the flat roof. Over time, this has been seeping into the property and has caused a very large damp patch in the internal ceiling above the bay window, causing water damage to the plaster and cornice. She has COPD, and the dampness is not good for her chest.
In addition, birds sit or even nest in the overhanging branch so the front garden is now covered in bird mess which means it's very slippery under foot when she's trying to put rubbish etc out. She is disabled and uses a walker to get around and is at high risk of falls. So this tree is not only damaging her property but is putting her health and safety at risk. I'd be very grateful if it can be dealt with as soon as possible please.
