The leaf fall on the pavement and in the gutters is a problem on two accounts: the safety of people who might slip on them as they are now slimy, and the build up of the old leaves in the gutters means the drains are in danger of getting blocked again in heavy rainfall, leading to the inevitable flooding into people's homes.
