Dangerous and unwanted tree

Reported via mobile in the Dying or dangerous tree category anonymously at 14:00, Wed 22 November 2023

Sent to Hounslow Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5241801.

I am sending this email on behalf of my elderly parents have resided at 44 Cardington Square, TW4 6AH since 1977.

A few years ago Hounslow Council erected a tree directly outside of my elderly parents home address. There was no absolutely no consultation taken or assessment of the impact on my parents. The tree was planted with no regard for my parents wishes.

The tree has since grown. As it was planted directly outside my parents address all the leaves etc go directly into their front garden and doorway. My parents are very elderly and not able to clear away the daily leaves which represent a slipping hazard. They also absolutely hate the tree being directly outside their home and never requested or wanted it.

Please can the tree be removed ASAP. As mentioned there was no consultation or any agreement from my parents for the tree to be planted outside their home. Nor was any assessment of the impact undertaken. It was simply planted with no due consideration for my parents as long term residents.

Both properties either side of 44 Cardington Square are rental houses. However, those residing have also expressed their frustration at the tree. My parents are the only actual home owners this impacts and have asked me to raise this with LBH. Please can you ensure that the tree is removed .

I have cc'd the relevant local Councillor and expect full support for the wishes of the elderly residents of 44 Cardington Square.

Thanks
