Planned works on Clayton Crescent.
Reported via desktop in the Works notification letter/leaflet category anonymously at 15:01, Thu 26 October 2023
Sent to Hounslow Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5140861.
The resident received a notification letter today REF: MM Footway.2023 The residents have only been given 4 days notice. The caller requests that more information be given as the work is supposed to continue for a month. The Caller needs to know if residents have access to their drives and the road for part or all of the month. They also need to arrange alternative parking as the road is in a resident's parking permit area. The new resident has a skip on the drive and renovation work taking place on the property and needs to know if this is going to cause her problems.

Hi there,
It seems my report has gotten confused as it is to do with the works on Clayton Crescent not Norman Avenue. Please could you urgently confirm the information requested for the correct location.
For reference, here is a summary of worries from our residents:
- There is construction being done at some of the housing on the road which cannot be postponed or delayed - this includes skip removal, flooring instillation and moving vans (furniture delivery access) over the next few weeks, will this be an issue?
- How will the roadworks block access? The lack of parking was the only thing addressed in the letter so could you clear up if / in what capacity we will have access to the road by car please?
- If the work will be done in sections rather than the whole road as one, could we get a bit of clarity on the order of works so we have a chance to collaborate on sharing drives between the different residents of the Crescent?
- There is a collective worry that already dropped kerbs will be raised without consent - residents that have been living on the road for a longer period of time are worried that what happened in Osterley (dropped kerbs that were previously applied and paid for were raised without notice and not rectified afterwards) is likely to happen due to the wording of the letter. Could we please get confirmation that this will not be the case? Are you able to provide some more detail as to what constitutes a 'hard standing drive' as this is the only exception noted in the letter. We are happy to provide photographs and door numbers of the current dropped kerbs that need to be kept as they are if needed. - 4 days (2 working) doesn't seem like sufficient notice to trim the shrubs needed for this work to be done, let alone source and relocate all of the cars housed on the road without help. So we would really appreciate some more direction on what the plan is here, or at the very least a bit more information than we've currently been given regarding the work that is to take place.
Any information you're able to share with me would be greatly appreciated and I hope you can appreciate that this is an urgent matter due to the works planned to commence on Monday (now only one working day away).
