Weed growing from public footpath and roads

We have a major issue with weed growing on public footpath and roads in our area and its not acceptable in any shape or form esp when we all pay council tax for this to be taken care off. Number of children have tripped due to this hazard and this need to be solved as soon as possible and would like someone from the council to contact me to discuss why our area has been left to rot in this way!
