E scooters on pedestrian path

Reported via mobile in the Complaint category anonymously at 21:26, Thursday 23 June 2022

From what I've read, escooters are illegal and only licensed one can be ridden on public roads. They should not be ridden on pedestrian paths. But still the number of them are on our pedestrian paths and some parents have chosen to do their school run on theem putting their children's lives and the pedestrians at risk. Despite the increasing numbers I'm yet to see any awareness campaign to make them know what they are doing is illegal. I walk to work and back I have had to change my route to avoid the stress and the abuse if pointed out what they are doing is illegal. There's so little you do for people who walk, the side walk opposite the bus garage slowly but steadily taken over by the extended shop fronts this is in addition to all delivery riders and e scooters whizzing by. The high street was once a safe place until it became a shared path. I can see the lovely high street quarters becoming the next play pit for the riders. if you do not put in place some controls it's very likely that something terrible will happen. There have been fatat accidents involving pedestrians and scooters elsewhere. Last winter i had 3 near misses within a very short time. We should be able to walk in peace not in fear of getting knocked over. It is great to see so many new developments and activities around but LBHs lack of attention to smaller issues will soon overshadow it.
