Tree is blocking the street light at night

I am raising the issue we have with the lack of street lighting again to highlight the importance. Having experienced two burglaries in two years and not being able to use cctv footage due to the lack of lighting on the road, as residents it is causing us serious concern for our safety. We were burgled recently on 1st December at 17.45. The vehicle was parked opposite our house and you cannot see the footage clearly due to really poor lighting. As soon as you turn towards the small green it is pitch black. This has now become a prime spot of burglaries to occur and we feel targeted. This issue was raised as soon as we purchased the property and ignored. As homeowners we shouldn’t feel scared and anxious in our own home. We are now even having to consider moving for our safety. The neighbourhood watch team as well as the police have asked us to raise this concern again and send them a copy of this email. There needs to be a permanent fix. Additional street lighting needs to be put in place and the trees must be cut down. I appreciate the previous response from Urvashi stating that the trees are bear and there is no obstruction however coming to do a site visit in broad daylight and not taking the season we are in into account (mentioning bear leaves) is not really a long term solution and doesn’t paint a true reflection of what we are facing everyday. Spring will be here soon and I do not want to be repeating myself when leaves regrow. As a suggestion I would visit at 6pm and then reconsider and take our safety into account as a fundamental factor rather then trees. The tree opposite 52 needs to be cut down so that the street lighting can do what it is supposed to be do and allow full lighting in winter/autumn months for residents and general public walking on the footpath.

I look forward to hearing back with the branches cut of the tree in due course.
